Road Trip

We left Ogden, UT on Feb 16th for the President's Day holiday. We went down to Kanab, UT.

The first day we went to Pipe Springs which is a Mormon settlement sanctioned by Brigham Young. It was a working farm.

Playing peek-a-boo with a long horn.

Fire place and cooking area inside the house.

Eating area - table and benches.

Sleeping area with a straw mattresses. We need a new mattress...I think I will pass on this idea. I should post this on Pintrest.

This is a blacksmith area.

I loved this little settlement. It was so quite and serine. Even the animals were quite.

Grand Staircase-Escalante

We needed a four wheeler to go into this area deeper. So we really didn't see the Staircase part.

Zions National Park

We drove through Zions on Hyway #9. It cost $25.00 to drive through. For us we had to add an extra $15.00 for the motor home for a very long tunel. They have to stop the traffic on the other side and the motor home is driven down the middle. We also had to unhook the Subaru. So I drove that while BJ drove the motor home. After the long tunel There were some really sharep hair pin turns. So I didn't get to many pictures. This was a beautiful drive.

This was a fun trip. I would like to go through Zions again and in just the car.
We got back on Feb 20, 2012 because I had an appointment the next day.

Frilly Yarn Project

 http://www.premieryarns.com/

Check out the videos on the website to see how to knit and crochet with Starbella!

I received my order for the frilly yarn this week. I started knitting right away. This is an easy project. It doesn't take long to finish.

So the photo to the right is what I knitted.

Projects are waiting

Jan. 10, 2012
The motor home is put away for a couple of months. Maybe the first of April we will be able to take it out again.

This weekend I went into my sewing/craft room to work on a project. I broke my sewing machine. I need to replace the "on" switch assembly. I have a Pfaff model 1222 -1970. I think it will take a while to get the assembly because it is so old. I am thinking of getting a new inexpensive machine. This would hold me over when I need to put my Pfaff in the shop.

I have several projects that I want to finish and some I want to start. I am on hold for a while.

So now I will work on my health or continue to work on my health.

Happy New Year!!

Jan 1, 2012
We stopped at the Beaver KOA on our way home. We have not stopped here before. I was impressed with this KOA not only was this very clean I was well laid out. So many RV parks are more intent on seeing how many spaces they can pack into a small area and are not concerned about the need for each RV to have some space in between each other. This KOA was well thought out and was nicely spaced. Each space had a picnic table on a stone pad and a fire pit.

Amenities were tent areas, cabins large pet area, horse shoe pits, play area for the kids, for large kids and some small toys for toddlers, and a pool.

We did not see a sign on the freeway for this KOA We were going to stop at another park down the road. I am glad we found this when we spotted the large sign on the road to their entrance.
We would have been able to fine this on line, however we drove until we were tired. We did not make reservations this trip.

On The Road Again

Dec. 24, 2011
We are on the road again. It was 17 degrees this morning in North Ogden, UT.  BJ has a week off so we headed south again. We stopped in Mesquite, NV at Casa Blanca. This RV Park is only $19.00 a night, however, they do not offer internet but they do have complete hook ups including cable. The restrooms and laundry area are clean and in good repair. Roads all around are paved. We are within walking distance to the casino and restaurants.

Driving around we found another view. BJ climbed a very large hill and took this for me. As I am watching him climb this very large hill I am thinking what will I do if he falls?  I have my cell phone with me so I will just call 911. Well, I do not know what road I am on and I do not see any street signs. I finally decide I will just have to leave him where he falls and drive down the hill to get help.
By the time, I finally get to a solution he is down the hill and beside the car.

I guess this RV Park does have internet. BJ just forgot to ask. I do see it today, where I did not see it yesterday on my computer. Earlier I had BJ take be over to the McDonalds so I could down load book 2 and 3 of the Hunger Games for my Kindle. It was fast and easy.

We packed up this morning and headed to Vegas. We met up with my sisters and their husbands about 3:00pm. My brother and his wife come in about 8:00 tonight. They are renting a house for 5 days so we will hang out with them.

Since it has been a while I came back to the RV to post on our blog. I  will sign out for tonight.
